If you applied for an SRD grant without an ID, SASSA gives you a system-generated ID number. You can use this number instead of a South African ID to check your grant status. Just visit the SRD SASSA Status Check, enter the system-generated ID and the phone number you used for your application, and you will see your application status. This method is similar to using a South African ID. - Check via the SASSA Helpline or Office Visit
You can verify your status by calling the SASSA helpline at 0800 60 10 11 or visiting a SASSA office. Bring your system-generated ID number with you. This option is helpful if you can’t check online or need more help. Remember to have the ID number and phone number you used when applying.
